Message from Chair

The Chairman of  Hanham Parish Council, Councillor Ian Richardson, has expressed his sadness following the announcement of the death of Her Majesty The Queen who died peacefully at Balmoral on 8 September 2022.  Councillor Richardson made the following statement.

On behalf of all councillors and the clerk  I would like to express our deepest condolences to the Royal Family at this very sad time. We recognise that many people will want to express their sadness at the passing of HM The Queen in their own way. Books of condolence will be opened at South Gloucestershire Council’s Badminton Road Offices, Yate and the Civic Centre, Kingswood, at 9am on Saturday 10 September for anyone who would like to pay their own personal tribute to Her Majesty.  The books will remain open every day from 9am to 5pm until Tuesday 20 September.

Book of condolence

There will be an online book of condolence on the South Gloucestershire Council website online book of condolence.

We are also signposting residents to the online book of condolence organised by Buckingham Palace on the Royal Family website.

Placing of Flowers

South Glos Council have arranged for floral tributes to be laid in Kingswood Park, on the path around the circular flower bed in front of the main gates.  There will be signs to indicate where.  Flowers left in other public places may be relocated to Kingswood Park if necessary.
